REVOLUTION NEWS: IVORY COAST

Ashamed President Gbagbo Is Removed From Power

Hello Soul Rebels, I am happy to address the following news. As you may have heard finally after years of injustice to the people of Ivory Coast and disrespect to the flag, ashamed President Gbagbo is removed from power. After losing the November 2010 presidential election to his rival Alassane Ouattara, Gbagbo refused to step down and called on his supporters to fight whoever tries to make him do so. What followed was gruesome scenery in the streets of Ivory Coast with hatchet and other kind of weapons. After months of bloodshed and many deaths, on April 11 Gbagbo and his equally power-crazy wife Simone Gbagbo aka “Iron Lady” of Ivory Coast was arrested in a bunker and placed under house arrest. His violent departure has proven once and more than ever how cruel and brutal our leaders have become. With his arrest I hope that Ivory Coast has overcome the worst.
Trying his very best to cling to power Gbagbo tried the Mugabe way, the ‘I know I lost the election but no matter what anybody says I am staying put’ approach. He hoped to reach a compromise and continue his rule through a so called power-sharing deal with the opposition. I am happy to say he failed miserably. As we have seen in Zimbabwe nothing has changed because the monster is still in power. You cannot do business with a dictator. Laurent Gbagbo has blood on his hands. He and his goons should face justice for crimes against humanity and punishment for the severe crimes they have committed. I hope the country’s democratically elected leader, Alassane Ouattara proves to be a man of the people and let justice take its course.
To my brothers and sisters in Ivory Coast, your loss is my loss and your happiness is mine as well. Although it will not be easy I wish you a quick recovery and hope you can soon return to peace and prosperity, together as one nation. You deserve all the best. The Soul Rebel Movement wishes you and your beautiful country all the best.
