\nThis poem was written and inspired by my recent trip to Sweden. From the 4th until the 8th of July I attended a four-day work conference in Stockholm, together with 39 young adults from different countries of the EU. The conference was organized by Mira Media and partners. Our mission is to create a media campaign, which goal is to contribute to a juster en better EU. This campaign is still in progress. THE PERSPECTIVES

We do not have editorial pages,
\nMetro inserts and radio stations
\nOur media is the social media
\nWe are the mouthpiece of our neighborhoods
\nWe are the new era
\nCall us the perspectives<\/p>\n

We are strangers doing strange dances in the night
\non a full belly
\nWe are fools, with sleepy eyes
\nwaiting for the sunset at 3 in the morning
\nWe are dreamers, we are a part of universal longings
\nWe are the healing to the ills of yesteryears
\nWe have explored the darkness with bitter tears
\nand never lost sight of hope
\nWe laughed and forgot about the problems of our own
\nWe held up our empty glasses and said \u2013 cheers!
\nLooked in the camera, grabbed each other
\nThis is for Sollentuna,
\nThis is for mama and aunt Tamara
\nThis is our moment, together<\/p>\n

Out here in this hole, in Stockholm
\nWhere babies don’t cry and supermarkets don’t sell alcohol
\nWe found us,
\nIndependent, sexy, and dangerously impatient
\nLet\u2019s give tomorrow a makeover
\nLet us start a media campaign
\nMobile phones, cameras, iPads, presentations,
\nHandclapping and end credits. We are settled
\nThe genie is back in the box
\nWith all her worries and troubles<\/p>\n

But we can’t go home
\nHome is segregation, home is Zwarte Piet is Racisme,
\nHome is taboo,
\nWhere all the bright stars are leaving for the moon
\nI. Too. Am. Europe but I do not wish for a continent
\nAll I want is a single room, a quiet place for a start
\nNo child left behind and no Roma left in the dark
\nLet us move mountains, and bring down the sky
\nThis wall that is between us must go blind<\/p>\n

Let Europe be the place where the dreamers grow old beards
\nWhere the doubters find a reason, to come near
\nAnd where the y-generation comes together every year
\nTo hold a conference, and leave with the confidence
\nThat one day Europe will be juster, more equal and better<\/p>\n
